We set off from Plaka, Athens' postcard-perfect old town, and glide straight toward the city's crown jewel. Next we climb gently to the Hill of Pnyx, the birthplace of democracy, where ancient Athenians gathered to vote — and where today you'll find one of the most spectacular panoramic views of the city, from the Acropolis to the sea.

Heading north, we pass the Ancient Agora, the beating heart of classical Athens, where Socrates philosophized and daily life unfolded beneath the Temple of Hephaestus.

From there we roll into lively Monastiraki, where flea market stalls, street musicians, and the smell of souvlaki tell you everything about Athens today. We wind through Plaka's shaded lanes — cafés, bougainvillea, and that famous old-town charm.

Rolling past Syntagma Square, we pause at the Hellenic Parliament for the famous Changing of the Guards — the Evzones' slow, theatrical march in full traditional uniform — before a refreshing glide through the shaded paths of the National Garden, Athens' green heart.

Then it's on to the Panathenaic Stadium, the dazzling all-marble arena that hosted the first modern Olympic Games in 1896. Running track, Olympic history, and one of the city's best photo backdrops — all in one stop.

Next, we cruise past the colossal columns of the Temple of Olympian Zeus and through Hadrian's Arch — the ancient gateway where old Athens meets the modern city.
